Application of Metrics

Should we include a section on metrics and follow up? not necessarily what metrics and checks on contributions to do, but that some sort of programmatic approach exists to measure contributions done by the organization?

In my view, this should be optional. My understanding of "programmatic approach" would be by scripting or similar. I'm not sure that every organization will want to generate these metrics. Certainly mine will, but I can imagine that there are organizations that don't care.
